Visit the 34-acre Haverstraw Bay County Park on the west bank of the river and its Sept. 11 Memorial, a commemorative tribute to the Rockland County natives who were affected by Sept. 11th.

From the River Towns to the Ramapo Highlands there’s much beauty and history to explore cycling along Rockland County bike routes 9W, 59, 202, 304. The Gran Fondo New York is a huge bike tour that comes through Rockland County once a year and is worth experiencing. Consider following Seven Lakes Drive which traverses Harriman and Bear Mountain State Parks.
Rockland County Hiking & Outdoor Recreation
32,000 aces of untouched parklands should be enough for you to get a start in Rockland County. The towns of Suffern and Sloatsburg are reachable by train and are wonderful entry points for Harriman State Park – NY’s 2nd largest state park. and they are reachable by train. Go hike, then retreat into one of these two towns for some foodie eats.

Stony Point Battlefield State Historic Site and Lighthouse
Stony Point is a historic community that played an important role in securing our country’s independence in the American Revolution. On weekends see a living history camp with blacksmithing, musketry, artillery, cooking, 2 pm battle tour, and demonstrations.
